Sunfirst Bank Project
I was hired to be the Interior Designer on this entire project. This was the second full bank, from the ground up, that I have done for this client. We selected all the cabinet styles and colors; all flooring choices, designed all the tile designs for the lobby, elevator and bathrooms; all the lighting fixtures, iron gate designs, all the furnishings and the accessories.
It was very important to the client that this second bank be slightly different than the previous bank, but essentially “look the same”. Also our design style was based on the clients desire to have an old fashioned bank, yet have it fit their modern needs. They wanted it to feel comfortable and cozy and reflect the heritage of this local region. We have been told over and over that we succeeded in these areas.
We had used a very talented muralist on all their other projects, and therefore again chose to have her paint images from this specific region that reflects the early settlers of this area. It has been extremely successful in bringing in new clientele to the bank, because so many local residents see themselves or their relatives in the murals and feel a sense of “family” with this bank.
I have worked with the Clawson family on and off for 3 years on several area’s of their home. I am especially proud of the kitchen I did for them. The home was built in the late 1980’s and needed badly to have the kitchen remodeled.. We planned and designed this kitchen for over a year before construction began.
I worked hard on all the hidden areas of this kitchen to get all the functionality that we could for them. We hired a great contractor and cabinet maker and
the results were great.
They went with top of the line appliances and cabinets. They love their granite counters and 1 horse power disposal. Between the pantry wall and the refrigerator, we designed a breakfast prep area, with toaster, blender and mixers. It is used every morning. When we re-did the floors in travertine, they loved it so much they took it throughout the entire downstairs.
With 3 small children, this kitchen works well with the 5 barstools and lots, and lots of counter area. In the previous kitchen the cook top was on the island, with no hood… so after relocating it to a much more functional and safer area, the rest of the kitchen fell into place!
