In this model home in Cedar City Utah, the builder expressed a desire for this style of room and we loved doing it. In this part of UT, it is still very rural and has lots of cows and horses, so it makes sense to theme a room for this style. In model homes, it’s important to stage them to incite emotions and for the folks thinking of buying this home, see that it can be made personable and have character.
I chose this mural because the wall behind the bed is the focal point of the room and it would add a ton of color and it has a calming effect even though there is a good use of color in the room and mural.
Note the drapery panels to either side of the large scale window. There is a great view out of this window and the drapery panels frame the window.

Nancy wanted her master bathroom remodel to be all about the tub! We designed the whole bathroom around it. We deleted the old tub and shower “all in one”, and moved the toilet to the old shower wall and moved the tub to the wall where the toilet had been. Everything is custom! The glass tile along with the wavy wall tile helped us achieve a nautical theme Nancy wanted in her bathroom.
The mirror has a hidden medicine cabinet and we enlarged the older door opening to as wide as we could and to add spaciousnes to the room added a sliding door with opaque glass to add even more light to the room.
The tub and vanity wall adjoin the neighbor townhouse and was load bearing so I got creative with the niches for shampoo and soap and she loved it!
My favorite part of the whole bathroom makeover is the herringbone commercial grade LVP “wood” floors. They added a ton of warm and pattern to the room.

At the bottom of the stairs of the Hansen’s great room, after adding the stunning dove sculptures, I finished the family room. The Hansen’s had all the main pieces of furniture in this area, but no accessories. Their requests were to reframe all the art, add a family tree to a blank wall and add color and some kind of coffee table. My dilemma was that there were already 5 different wood finishes in that small area…and glass was out of the question with 13 grandchildren! So I opted for navy blue leather ottomans that move around for game time and the tops flip over to convert to tables. Pillows, throws and greenery are always a missing ingredient that are essential to make a house a home…so plenty of those were added too. I used the clients artwork as requested, just having them all reframed.

Before and after photos of the same space. The Hansen’s came to me with the goal of leaving town for 6 weeks and when they returned home they wanted 5 main area’s of their home finished! They had recently purchased most of the main pieces of furniture so I had to work with all those pieces but with only 2 short interviews try to nail their personalities and how they wanted to live in their new home…but they said they absolutely loved loved loved the finished product and that I nailed it. This is just the dining, kitchen, stairwell and great room area.

This little bench is in a hall leading to a guest bedroom, and I wanted to create a space to sit and look out at the views and also add some needed color. This guest bedroom is off the kitchen and needed a chair, some pillows and artwork

The Hansen’s home is a Christ centered home, as you will see through their choices of art and sculpture. As always I design for the client, not for anyone else. So we took the statue of Christ from off the floor where it resided and had a custom pedestal made and back lit it. The client asked for additional art of the Savior to the left of the fireplace which I selected and then I added all the warmth that greenery adds and anchored the dining table with a new rug. I left room over the buffet for artwork the client said was yet to come from relatives

We started the outdoor design with this new large table and chairs for their large family gatherings. The following month the pool and hot tub with added cement patio’s were started…so stay tuned for the finished look with additional lounge chairs that I now have on order.

This area is off the downstairs family room of the Hansen’s home. I call it the “Meditation area”. I had these huge religious pieces of artwork reframed from having large baroque frames to more sleek and modern frames. I hung them with some candles then ordered in custom leather swivel chairs with an interesting ottoman to add a place of relaxation and good conversation. The curio cabinet I had moved to this location as the statues inside suited this area better than the office where they had been located. Again greenery, pillows and texture helped make it a more comfortable spot for family to hang out.

Before and after photos of the Adam’s living/dining room. The Adam knew they need drapes, but I helped them to see they need to spruce up the entry tool! We added the wallpaper, mirror and artwork to that area and custom cornice boxes, drapes and pillows to the living and dining spaces. Not seen is also a wing back chair that was redesigned with new legs and a more modern fabric to finish off the living room. We have more rooms to do!

You know not every client wants anything major but sometimes even small changes can still be dramatic. Robyn just wanted to make her builder grade home a bit more custom. We we added a backsplash and she picked out the tile all by herself…good job! And then we had her island painted a deep blue. Nothing major but big for her! There is also a built in desk area, not in the photos (sorry) but we also had it painted and new artwork above. She is still deciding the dining room furniture and living room furniture.

This wonder client, Lori, was blessed with a huge new master bedroom in her new home but didn’t know how to finish it off. We had her cabinet guy build in a window seat, and I had a local upholsterer create a cushion for the bench. I had my pillow work room do pillows for the bed, chair and window bench. And I turned to Norwalk furniture to build us a custom chair and ottoman to match! They loved it all. Lori used her talents too and added the artwork and accessories while everything was being built. It was a great collaboration.

This is another example of a client knowing their own style, having purchased most of the items in the home, and then realizing the room just needed something! They called and I gave their boring focal point wall of windows custom cornice boxes. They were going very western/native American with their style and so we found a fabric that brought together the rust and brown they already had and I suggested the leather cascades with nail heads to finish them off. They loved them. It really did make a big difference in their room.

I recently helped Carolyn select fabrics and then work with one of our master upholsterers to redo all her furniture. It really added a lot of color and was more her style than her previous color scheme of green and gold.

This is a brand new build for the Walkers. I helped them with all their motorized blinds throughout the home, and their furniture. They have great taste and we went with great finishes and furnishings. We had the dining table custom made, the barstools and dining chairs are from Charleston Forge, the full leather sectional is from Omnia and is so comfortable. The coffee table is a Noguchi Table, and our Charles Eames chair and ottoman are still on order. We recently went shopping at the Las Vegas Design Market and have selected a low console to go behind the sectional and 2 swivel barrel chairs for additional seating.

I had the pleasure of working with Velocity Homes in Cedar City on their first Model Home in the Old Sorrel Ranch Subdivision. I will get some exterior pictures as soon as the landscaping is done. This is just a few of the photos of this beautiful home.
They asked me to decorate this first model in the style of Modern Farmhouse. I started with the fireplace tile. Once that was selected everything else fell into place. Velocity had already selected this fabulous LVP “wood” flooring to take throughout the main parts of the home and everything works well with it. I used a black and white color scheme in the great room area and added a dark teal wall and teal accents to the black and white in the master bedroom.  I love the modern stair railing and free floating shelves mixed with the farmhouse elements.
The kids room were fun to design around an imaginary little boy who loves his dog, and the big sister room for a tween!
In design we use a mix of elements…glass, wood, stone, fabrics, metal and in this home you can see them all sprinkled throughout each room. We also started calling this home “the bird house”, see if you can find all the bird references and images throughout the home.

My client Teresa inherited her parents home and wanted to make it her own. I made it a better kitchen triangle, converted all door cabinets to drawers, upgraded appliances, counters and much more. This kitchen now suited Teresa’s needs much better

My client Teresa inherited her parents home and wanted to make it her own. I made it a better kitchen triangle, converted all door cabinets to drawers, upgraded appliances, counters and much more. This kitchen now suited Teresa’s needs much better

Teresa’s pantry is just off her kitchen through her garage door entrance and also laundry room. As a dealer for Organized Living I was able to also give her much needed adjustable and flexible pantry storage. The laundry cabinets were part of our kitchen design.

Teresa's master bathroom and closet remodel

Teresa’s master bathroom and closet remodel. She had such a small shower to begin with so I relocated the new shower to her old tub location. We took out the door separating the shower and toilet area from the vanity and widened the opening. Every single thing was updated from new plumbing, lighting, all fixtures and of course all new cabinetry and tile. As always, my clients are intricately involved in the whole design process and so as expected Teresa was over the moon happy with the end result of all her room’s transformations.

Teresa's guest bathroom

This is the final look of Teresa’s hall and guest bathroom. I took out the dated vanity and tub and everything was replaced with updated and functional fixtures and plumbing. As in most updates, when you take a 16 yr old dated home that was just “builder grade” from the beginning and update it and make it custom to you; you can live in your home in a whole new way.

I started helping this client after the home was already framed. So I did have the opportunity to help them with their lighting plan, select paint and flooring; design their tile for their floors, bathrooms and backsplashes; and design their kitchen cabinetry and window coverings.
We have worked together over 2 years on this project and the finished product has exceeded their desires.
They live in an exclusive area, right on the golf course and have great views of the surrounding landscape. So I worked hard on bringing the outdoors in and reflecting the desert landscape and earthy, botanical style they were looking for. Overall, they wished for simple clean lines, a contemporary feel and yet reflect the southern Utah “look”.

This client had a large empty area between her home and her casita, so we filled it will wonderful, cozy and colorful outdoor furniture. The canopy will give her the shade we need in Southern Utah to stay cool. She was over the moon at the reveal, so fun to see our efforts pay off.

Here is the BEFORE photos of this brand new kitchen. This is the third home I have helped this amazing client over a 24 yr period. When she saw what kind of kitchen was actually included in the builder package, she hired me to gut the kitchen as soon as she closed on the home. We went got to work and started shopping for her dream kitchen. The transformation was amazing.

The AFTER photos of this clients kitchen is a major transformation. The cabinets were from Peppermint Cabinets, the counters from Renaissance Granite and Stone, Garcia Brothers did our backsplash and High Output Electric was our electrician. They all did a great job. So much lighter and brighter and even more functional with the added on luxuries.

This fireplace remake is also in the same home as the Kitchen remodel. I often don’t remember to take photos from the beginning to the end but I did on this project! Yay! So you can see my clients inspiration photo, and my process to make it a reality. Such an upgrade from plain painted sheetrock to a full rock smear and solid rustic mantel. The most important part…the client is over the moon with the results

I designed this table and had it custom built for this client’s second home. The end chairs I got at an auction and had reupholstered in leather by my local master upholster. I didn’t get to see the room completely done but caught a few photos during the process

This space was a totally an unused lower space under a clients deck. (first we enclosed the deck above and also finished it) I had the room built and enclosed, designed the vanity and sink area, all the furniture I designed and had custom built then finished it off with bedspreads and accessories from my western style suppliers.

I’m so lucky to always have such wonderful clients, and this was another fun job with Charlotte. These are the after photos of her master bedroom. We had the bed custom made by a local master upholsterer, furniture from Four Hands and other stores at the LVDC and custom made sheer draperies and bedding

Clawson Kitchen

I have worked with the Clawson family on and off for 3 years on several area’s of their home. I am especially proud of the kitchen I did for them. The home was built in the late 1980’s and needed badly to have the kitchen remodeled. We planned and designed this kitchen for over a year before construction began.
I worked hard on all the hidden areas of this kitchen to get all the functionality that we could for them. We hired a great contractor and cabinet maker and
the results were great.

They went with top of the line appliances and cabinets. They love their granite counters and 1 horse power disposal. Between the pantry wall and the refrigerator, we designed a breakfast prep area, with toaster, blender and mixers. It is used every morning. When we re-did the floors in travertine, they loved it so much they took it throughout the entire downstairs.
With 3 small children, this kitchen works well with the 5 barstools, and lots and lots of counter area. In the previous kitchen the cook top was on the island, with no hood… so after relocating it to a much more functional and safer area, the rest of the kitchen fell into place!

Bloomington Master Bathroom Remodel
This client purchased this older home and wanted a updated look. We gutted the bathroom and started from scratch. I shopped with the owner for just the right look they were after. Then I drew up the floor plan, a schematic of each wall, plumbing and electrical plan. We then worked with the clients general contractor in implementing the full design.
We also remodeled the entire home with new wall coverings, flooring, lighting and kitchen.

Dottie has lived in her master bedroom without draperies for several years but decided drapes would add some needed softness and make her room more glamorous. These drapes really added to her room and she was over the moon with how great they turned out. With the drapes wide open she still gets her million dollar view of our Southern UT plateaus and the golf course she backs up to, but closed it gives the room the romance and high end look she was hoping for.
