Interior Designer:
KayLynn Stanley

KayLynn graduated in 1983 with a BA in Fine Arts/Interior Design from Brigham Young University. She continued with her design education by taking the NCIDQ, the National exam for Professional Interior Designers and passed. KayLynn is the only interior designer south of Salt Lake City that is a State Certified Commercial Interior Designer (SCCID). (Only 45 in the state of Utah)

KayLynn has 40+ yrs of experience in all areas of commercial and residential design, and has become an expert in window coverings, lighting design, space design, kitchen and bath design and teaching design classes. She has flown all over the United States to take classes to learn more about window coverings and all other aspects of design to keep up her CEU’s and stay on top of all the current trends.

KayLynn wrote one of the first design manuals for the public in 1987 and has taught her classes ever since. This was quite upsetting to the ASID designers in Utah at the time and many years before HGTV. KayLynn will be teaching classes at her design studio in all areas of design such as Feng Shui, Doing the Best with what you have, The power of Color, Lighting your home, Step by Step Building a New Home, and her 5 week course that covers all the essentials of learning to decorate for yourself.

KayLynn started her own YouTube channel and Facebook page in early 2017 called Designerlicious. https://www.facebook.com/Designerlicious. This will be somewhere you can go for design tips, lessons and videos. KayLynn has rewritten her 1987 book and it is available for purchase even without taking her 5 week design course. KayLynn also has been a guest speaker in High School Home Economic departments and College Design departments for 32 years. She guest speaks for women’s groups and businesses. KayLynn was also the first editor for The Spectrum News paper with a design column for over 2 years, and has had her work published in magazines and has won several awards on her designs.

She does staging of homes to help realtors sell home, consults with home buyers in helping them purchase homes that suit them best and of course decorates models, vacation homes, private homes, club houses, malls, banks, stores, offices of all kinds and other commercial properties. KayLynn is the only interior designer that can pull building permits in Washington county and is educated in building codes.

KayLynn has taken additional courses over her 40+ yrs and excels in lighting design and kitchen and bath design, above and beyond most interior designers. She believes she will never know everything in the design world and continues to take courses every year to stays up on her certification for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), International Interior Design Association (IIDA) the premier Interior Design Societies in the world and now for her license in the State of UT. She is also a member of NKBA, the National kitchen and Bath association.

“KayLynn has performed decorating work for my wife and I at our Laguna Hills Home… All of her work has been “first class”, done very professionally and of the finest quality. It has also been very reasonably priced. We both would highly recommend KayLynn’s decorating and closet installation work. We have personally been more than pleased with the results.”
